Yuri Ishikawa and her team try to crack unresolved cold cases in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan.

The police are investigating a case that involves a death directly caused by a rare bug known as the bullet ant. In order to clear his name, Tan Jingtian, an Insect toxicology graduate becomes involved in the bizarre investigation and collaborates with forensic doctor Jin Ling. As they dig deeper, they uncover the mystery behind his own identity. Along with police captain Chen Han and the other detectives, they trace every clue as they solve one case at a time to uncover the murderer that has been in hiding for many years.

The play is set in the turbulent period of the Republic of China in Shanghai. In a turbulent era, the forensic doctor Che Suwei (played by Dong Xuan) and the gentleman detective Gu Yuan (played by Gu Jiacheng) are intertwined with various forces. "Deputy Inspector Kang Yichen (Su Xiaozheng), and the innocent and lively reporter Cao Qingluo (Lü Yanbei) worked together to crack out a number of weird and curious cases, and restore the truth

A story that follows undercover cop Gan Tianlei who spent 10 years of his life walking a gray area. After waking up from a serious injury, he restarts his life and tries to solve a case by relying on his lost memories. Gan Tianlei, Yang Xiaolei and Xiong Guoliang used to be the solid trio of the police academy. However, Gan Tianlei was dismissed after he wounded someone in order to help Yang Xiaolei. After leaving the academy, he moves south to make a living and was recruited by Che Lizi of the Caesar Group.

Set towards the end of the Joseon era, Sung Yi Gyum placed first in the state examination and he now works at the Hongmungwan (administrative and research department). He doesn't have a goal or ambition for his life. One day, Sung Yi Gyum is caught gambling. As punishment, he is assigned to work as a secret royal inspector. His job is to eradicate illegal acts and corruption by public officers. He carries out his new job with the help of Hong Da In and Park Chun Sam. Hong Da-In is a female inspector and solves cases with Sung Yi Gyum. Park Chun Sam is Sung Yi Gyum’s servant. Park Chun Sam is talkative, affectionate, and tearful.

With old faces back on the team, the detectives investigate a series of bewildering cases that seem to be linked to a shady organization.
